INVESTMENT
A quality headshot can set you apart, capturing the attention of your target audience. In exchange for your investment, you will receive a set of polished images that shows you at your best and which you can employ to reach your target audience.
For headshot sessions, my approach to lighting for headshots is simpler than that used for my cinematic portrait sessions, while maintaining a similar level of refinement.
Headshot sessions are typically conducted at my studio. If you have a desire to conduct your headshot session at another location, in order to convey the image you want to present, that service is available at an additional charge.
All clients receive:
- Edited digital images as both full-resolution proofs with copies formatted for sharing on Facebook or other social media. Images will be delivered on CD (online delivery also available on request).
- One year hosting of edited digital images on www.PSLindenPhoto.com, with prints available for purchase.
- A complimentary album posting on the P.S. Linden Photography Facebook page.
- Advance consultation to assist you in planning for your headshot session.
- All packages include editing and artistic retouching of all images selected for delivery. High-end retouching services are available upon request at additional charge.

Additional Services:Hair/Makeup Services: Headshot packages do not include any hair or makeup services or supplied wardrobe or costume. If you would like the services, I would be happy to refer you to talented and highly skilled stylists and hair/makeup artists who can be retained to assist with your session, subject to their availability. I also welcome collaborating with any hair, makeup, or styling artists you wish to employ for your shoot. Advanced Retouching: Headshot packages include fashion-inspired retouching and artistic toning of all delivered images. This includes removal of temporary blemishes, lightening wrinkles, refining skin tone, brightening eyes, enhancing features, and similar adjustments. More advanced editing (such as compositing, background replacement, etc.) is available at a rate of $75/hour. Additional image delivery options available for purchase include:

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
How do I book a headshot session?
To get the ball rolling, contact me -- the quickest way is via my Facebook page, as that will send me a notification on my phone. You can also contact me by filling out this contact form. Email (to info <at> PSLindenPhotography <dot> com) is also an option. Once we make contact, we will discuss scheduling of your session, your intended uses of the finished headshots, as well as answer any questions you may have in advance of your session. The full amount of your session package must be paid at the start of your session.
How far in advance do I need to book my shoot?
Due to existing bookings and other obligations, my schedule is generally committed 3-4 weeks in advance, and I normally cannot accommodate a session in an earlier timeframe. The final, edited Images are typically delivered 3-4 weeks after the headshot session. Therefore, if you need images by a specific date, I recommend contacting me to book your shoot at least 60 days in advance of that deadline.
Where will my headshot session take place?
I typically conduct headshot sessions in-studio, as on-location sessions require additional time to pack and transport the needed lighting gear and for travel to the location. However, for an additional fee, I can come to your office or workplace, or we can meet at another location that fits the message you want your headshot to convey. If the location is beyond twenty miles of downtown Kansas City, travel expenses for milage will apply.
What is the difference between a headshot session and a portrait session?
Photos from a headshot session are composed to emphasize the face, ranging from a tight framing of the face, to wider shots including more of the upper torso. Portrait sessions will include both headshot-style images, as well as photos incorporating the whole body and taking in more of the environment around you.
What should I wear?
You should select attire that helps convey the message you want to send with your headshots. Business attire is recommended for a corporate headshot, while audition headshots, less formal, but still dressy attire is appropriate. Performers looking for promotional photos might consider having their photos taken in costume. You're the star of your photoshoot - feel free to explore any role you wish!
Will you travel outside of the Kansas City area?
While I will travel up to 20 miles from downtown Kansas City, Missouri, for headshot sessions at no additional charge. Cost for travel outside of that radius will be based upon mileage (charged at current IRS mileage rate) and travel time.
When does my purchased session time begin to run?
Your session time begins to run at the time we schedule the session to start. If you are late for your session, that counts against your session time.
How will I receive the photos from my session?
My typical means of delivering photos is via DVD-ROM disc. You will receive the selected images from your session in two formats: (1) watermarked images sized for sharing via social media or other online use and (2) a full-resolution, non-watermarked copy suitable for printing. Absent unusual circumstances, you will receive your images within 2 weeks after your headshot session.
Will I receive every photo you take?
No. During your session, I will take multiple photos of each pose, so that I can select the best and strongest image from that particular pose. After your session, I will review the images taken, to find the ones with the most compelling expression, and culling out any photos where you might have blinked. I will then edit, process and perform light retouching on the remaining selected images. The end result will provide you with a curated set of images that show the best photos from your portrait session.
Who owns the copyright to the photos?
I retain the copyright to all photos I take. I will provide you with a license to use the photos you receive for personal, non-commmercial purposes, as well as to use the images for promotional purposes (such as online or print advertising). I also offer reasonable terms for licensing images for other commercial use on products (such as book covers, album art, etc.) You will also receive a print release allowing you to obtain prints of the photographs you receive for personal or promotional use.
Can I purchase prints from you?
Certainly! While you will receive full-resolution copies of the images from your session that you can print yourself, I am affiliated with a professional photo lab in order to make prints available to clients who want high quality, heirloom prints of their favorite images. If you are interested in receiving your images in a custom photo album, I would be happy to discuss that with you, as well!
